Although Party Poker lost its US database
after the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) was passed,
the US has not stopped playing poker online.
"The US poker market is thriving and it will not
stop growing in popularity until players go to the computer and quite
literally are stopped from accessing any poker site," says poker
analyst Richard Hart.
As a result of Party Poker disappearing from the US
market other smaller, yet probably more reputatable poker halls, like
Doyle's Room, have risen in popularity.
Poker Stars is now the leading poker room in the world,
but Doyle's Room is emerging as the player favorite. Doyle Brunson
is the king of poker and more people feel secure playing at a casino
endorsed and run by a name of his stature.
It is pointed out on websites throughout the world that
the bill that recently passed in the US only reinforces that all things
previously illegal are more illegal, and online poker was never proven
to be illegal.
So players are advised to keep playing wtih no worries.
